In recent years, due to the flourishing development of renewable energy, the intermittent renewable energy generation depends on different weather factors, coupled with abnormal climate changes, natural disasters lead to a large number of power outages. To improve power quality, supply electricity stably, achieve low-carbon life and sustainable development, energy storage is recognized as the most effective and cost-effective total solution for countries around the world. The energy storage system could achieve stable renewable energy supply and provide related supplementary services (such as voltage, frequency regulation, and storage, etc.) at the power generation, according to the application scenario and environment. On the client-side, it could achieve the benefits of an uninterruptible power system, peak cutting, reducing contract capacity and saving electricity bills.

Provide integrated container and integrated design for medium and large-scale energy storage, covering circuit wiring diagram, hydrant, and air-conditioning ventilation systems, etc., completed in 20 or 40-inch containers. According to user requirements, evaluation design and select suitable battery materials, such as lithium ternary, lithium iron, vanadium flow and lead-acid, etc., to optimize battery efficiency and longevity. Provide ancillary services, disaster-proof/continuous power battery capacity planning and design.

Main Achievements

    • 2021 Frequency Regulation Ancillary Service: Tatung is the first qualified trader having energy storage resources for 4MW/4.65MWh to pass and online Taipower Energy Trading Platform.

    • 2021 Automatic Frequency Control (AFC)Project: As one of the manufacturers of Teclast's initial AFC project, Tatung has provided 1MW of energy storage capacity.

    • 2020 Energy Storage Laboratory Accreditation of Tatung Company: As a result of a 100kW/110kWh battery system, which provides building electricity transfer and R&D unit regulation algorithm verification, it was selected as the 2020 Taipei Commercial Office Building Smart Energy Conservation Award.

    • 2020 Shalun Green Energy Navigator R&D Project: Through the Industrial Technology Foresight Research Program, we developed a megawatt (MW) power controller and 1.0MW/0.8MWh battery systems with academic research institutions.

    • 2020 Zhangbin Phase II large-scale energy storage grid-connected verification system: a 1.5MW/1.5MWh battery system with 2C specification lithium-ion batteries to achieve grid-connection.

    • 2019 Zhangbin large-scale Battery Energy Storage System: It is Taiwan's first cross-brand and heterogeneous battery integrated energy management system, integrating four sets of megawatt (MW) energy storage systems in Zhangbin Energy Storage Plants. In addition to the original functions, this system also has on-site backup and redundancy.

    • 2019 Large-scale Energy Storage Grid Verification System in Kaohsiung Yongan: In conjunction with the government's regional energy storage equipment technology demonstration and verification program, we completed the first 1.0MW/1.2MWh battery system in Taiwan. This system include: solar photovoltaic output smoothing improvement, voltage regulation, frequency adjustment, scheduling charge and discharge, real virtual power control, power factor control.
