With expansion of underground cable transmission system in cities, it becomes necessary to install large capacity shunt reactors to compensate the leading non effective power. We cooperate with famous foreign makers, developed 33kV 40MVAR, 161kV 80MVAR and 345kV 100MVAR high performance radial core type shunt reactor with low noise level, low no load loss and save material of core.

Standard type distribution transformers are mostly used in distribution systems for industrial and commerical utilities. The step-lap wounded cores, rectangular shape coils and corrugated tanks are adopted for compact design and best performances of the transformers.

Tatung develops distribution transformers for the applications with harmonic content resulting from nonlinear load in renewable energy system. The applications include Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) inverters and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The upgraded insulation design has been performed to encounter abnormal surges during operation. It provides a better option meet customers’ requirements for the transformers in renewable energy system.

The windings encapsulated by epoxy resin are most suitable for high dusty and high humid areas, and with the high electrical, high mechanical strength and high overload capacity properties.

TATUNG SF6 Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) contains major substation equipment, such as gas circuit breaker, disconnecting switch, earthing switch, 24kV 4-Way Automatic Line Switch(Ring Main Unit) for Underground, voltage transformer, current transformer, and lightning arrester in the grounded metallic enclosure and is filled with SF6 gas, which has the best insulation and arc-quenching capabilities. Accordingly, GIS is the most developed switchgear with many excellent features including compactness, safety, high reliability, easy operation, long maintenance intervals and compatibility with its surroundings.

Tatung Co. is the first company to introduce amorphous metal core distribution transformers manufacturing technology in Taiwan. According to skills and dexterities developed since 1991, more than 2,000 units AMT were made and operated in Mainland China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan successfully. The largest rating of 5000kVA was manufactured and delivered in 2006.

Amorphous metal ribbon is adopted to be the core material that reduce about 80% core losses as compared with the silicon steel transformers. Utilize Tatung patent three-leg amorphous core manufacturing technology making best quality and smaller foot print of the amorphous cast-resin transformers.
