Tatung's digital home products

The first of its kind available to consumers on the go, Tatung's Elio* Portable Media Player comes fully equipped with FM radio / TV program recording functions. Much more than a slim hard disk-based MP3 player, Elio supports industry-standard formats for photo viewing and slideshows. As a perfect companion to other devices such as Tatung's Media Center PC, LCD TV, PDP and Smart Display, Elio allows flexible and convenient storage of digital contents.

Tatung's Media Center PC, which runs on Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition, features built-in TV tuner, front I/O ports, card reader, personal video recorder, and remote controller. Through its Media Center PC, Tatung aims to provide customers with total control over their entertainment and information needs in a cost-effective manner.

Also for the first time, Tatung is launching at COMDEX Fall 2003 the industry's first WLAN flat panel TV adopting the 802.11g technology and digital media adapters capable of streaming high-definition video contents.

The TUD-3114, for example, integrates 14 server blades in a 3U chassis, delivering 196 servers with Intel Xeon CPU in a standard 42U height rack more than four times what is currently achievable with the “thinnest” 1U servers today. Effective density is even higher since TUD-3114 also integrates dual Smart Gigabit Ethernet switches and dual Management blades (called M-Directors), each of which would normally consume an additional 1U of rack space.
