Health and Safety Works

Inadequate understanding of dangerous/hazardous materials or poor management of them in any plant may exert varying in any of degrees of negative influence on employees’ health and safety work, leading to frequent disasters. In order to achieve the goal of having a disaster-free working environment to ensure employees’ safety, the company has for years vigorously carried out educational training and propagated related regulations.

Education and training:

To continuously improve health and safety, the study center offers training classes, live safety supervisor training classes, health and safety intermediate classes for personnel operating the forklift and stationary cranes, classification and marking of hazardous material classes.
 

Regulations:

To reduce danger to labor health and safety, relevant measures for high risk management are taken, including Classification and Marking of Hazardous Materials, Behavior Based Safety, Prevention of Operational Danger in Limited Space Standards, Volatile Organic Chemicals Poisoning Prevention Regulations, Occupational Accident Prevention, etc.

Besides education and training and regulation propagation, the Environmental and Safety Committee also promotes OHSAS 18001 management system and Workplace Safety and Health Protection System to achieve the goal of a disaster-free working in the operations in Tatung Co.

OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System:

In an institutionalized,documented and systematized way, Tatung Co. has aggressively participated in educational training, regulation checking, and risk assessment, as well as has established procedures to improve health and safety issues, formulated objectives, and set up improvement projects. These are accomplished through the execution of the improvement projects and periodical assessments, as well as by management reviews in an effort to continue improving health and safety performance, thus enabling Tatung to achieve the goal of zero disaster.
