Cloud computing is a new feature of the IT industry that involves a greater focus on software that is hosted on virtual systems and which are readily accessible from anyplace with an Internet connection. This system greatly reduces the number of servers and computing power needed to run a wide array of applications. More and more, cloud computing is influencing the development of computer software in a way that increases cross-compatibility and synergy across vastly different application types. As such, cloud computing is increasingly being used by governments and corporations to increase their organizational efficiency.
